Rachael Ray: Sliced Steak Sensation

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Here is a Rachael Ray recipe that doesn’t call for 100 ingredients! This sliced steak is excellent. It is full of flavor and it is ready in about 15 minutes! This meal let me have some sides that we like at our house. I grilled up some squash on my grill pan and made a little broccoli and cheese, which are 2 of our favorites at our house. So serve this steak up with your family’s favorite sides!

Total Time: 20 minutes

Husband Says: “It is good.”

Notes: All this recipe is, is mixing hot sauce, EVOO, white wine vinegar, and worcestershire sauce together and rubbing it over a London Broil or Top Round Steak. I didn’t measure out any of these, just about a teaspoon of each. I put mine in the oven on the rack 2 from the top instead of the top for about 6 minutes on both sides. Sometimes I get scared putting stuff on the top, especially with oil. It can splatter, at least in my oven, when you open the door, so I thought 2nd from the top would be fine. Be sure you let the steak rest for at least 5 minutes before cutting it.

Rachael Ray: Chicken Parm Bites

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

I choose this Rachael Ray recipe because I thought the baby would like it. We went by the fair and he ate a corn dog about 4:30, he still ate some of this chicken. I asked him if he was hungry and he went to his chair. So I guess he was. I liked these a lot, they would be great for your next finger food party. You could make these in a variety of ways, maybe barbecue, sweet-n-sour, just a few examples. The husband came home tonight, so to make this a complete meal I served them with a Caesar salad and garlic bread sticks. I debated about some pasta to go with the sauce, but I thought we had more then what we really needed!

Total Time: 25 minutes

Husband Says: “They were okay, I’m not a huge fan of fried chicken.” ( I guess basically not living together for 6 weeks changes things, I have never had complaints before!)

Notes: The only thing I did differently on this recipe is I heated the pesto and crushed tomatoes in the microwave. The less pans I need to put in my dishwasher the better! Other then that I did what Rachael suggested! I do want to try these barbecue style, maybe at my next party.
