Slider Recipe

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

I love Rachael Ray Sliders, ever since Chili’s came out with these, I’ve been in love! My husband has been begging for a jalapeno burger, so I thought this would hit the spot. I think I like sliders over burgers because I feel like I eat less, and I am full quicker. These 7 layers make for a super thick little burger, so enjoy these big mouth bites!

Recipe: South-West 7 layer sliders

Cookbook: Big Orange Book

Total Time: 25 minutes

Husband Says: “It was good. Good flavor, a little spice, like a Mexican burger.”

Notes: I only used 1 lb. of ground beef and I got 11 burgers. I also did not use red onion, I’ve been getting a little bit of a hard time with using too much onion, and maybe I forgot to buy one at the store, so I went without it, let’s just say I didn’t miss it. I also used the trusty microwave for the beans, a bowl to me is much easier to clean then a sauce pan! Other then that I followed the recipe and I really loved all the flavors together! These are YUM-O!

Dracula’s Transylvanian Ghoul-ash

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Tonight’s meal practically cooks itself, as in I had enough time to clean up my son after he dumped half a box of baking soda on himself and it didn’t burn! I enjoyed another Rachael Ray family friendly recipe, and this one was another one that probably was healthier then some other recipes I have posted. This is similar to a stroganoff, actually it probably is the same thing, but its a fun name for the kiddos!

Recipe: Dracula’s Transylvanian Ghoul-ash

All done!

All done!

Cookbook: Yum-O!

Total Time: 30 minutes, if you’re meat is defrosted!

Difficulty: Easy

Husband says: “Great, good combination” (At the moment my huge Texas fan husband was preoccupied with important matters.)

Notes:I did not use as much garlic in this recipe, only 3 cloves. Not because I don’t like it, but because I thought my cloves were larger then normal. For those that may not work with garlic much, after you remove the cloves from the bulb, smash them with the side of your knife, the skin comes right off.  I used chopped onions, I guess I don’t have a good grater for onions, so if anyone has any suggestions, please share! My final note is I used tomatoes, to add a little color, I couldn’t find pimientos in our store. (Oh and I used dried dill weed, because I’m too cheap to but the fresh stuff! Overall I liked this meal better then a stroganoff! I’d cook it again.

Welcome
I like to cook and post about it in this blog. In 2009, I cooked a Rachael Ray recipe everyday for my family. You can check out the featured receipe from 2009. Here's hoping this blog makes your lives a little less work and more enjoyable!
