Rachael Ray: Caramel Apple Layer Cake

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m sure you’re not even interested in making this Rachael Ray recipe today, but it is a good dessert. While you are probably having your fill of pumpkin and pecan pies, here is a great Fall cake recipe. I like apple pie, mostly when it is cool outside with a huge scoop of ice cream on top. Starbucks makes an apple cider that taste like an apple pie exploded in your mouth. I felt the same reaction with this cake. It is so full of apple pie with a nice hint of caramel, you’re going to want another piece!

Cookbook: Rachael Ray Online

Total Time:40 minutes baking, 1 hour cooling

Notes: Make sure you cool these long enough before you start icing. I always make that mistake. I think they smelled so good I just couldn’t wait to take a bite. I also had a little problem getting my cakes out of the pans, both of them didn’t come out perfect. I’m sure it would’ve looked better had I waited to ice it. But it was still so good!

It looks delicious Michelle and I commend you for baking from scratch, although I’m just wondering how this can actually be a Rachael Ray recipe. She has cleary said over and over that she “does not bake” and she “does not measure” which is totally necessary when baking. More likey, it’s her sister’s recipe…she the one who bakes.
