Rachael Ray: Shrimp with Pancetta, Peas, and Shells

I always pick Rachael Ray recipes that I make based on the ingredients, not the directions. Well, this is one wake up call, and I know I’ve said this before, I really need to read the directions on the recipes. But, for this one it had shrimp and peas; I don’t like shrimp, my husband doesn’t like peas, so I thought I’d half it and we’d both be happy without the ingredient we didn’t like. I didn’t realize the peas made the sauce, oops! Overall, I think we both liked it alright, not the best pasta dish I’ve ever had, but it wouldn’t be the worst either.

Cookbook: Just In Time

Total Time: 20 minutes

Husband Says:“It’s okay, I like grilled shrimp with Cajun seasoning better.

Notes:Well I followed the recipe, except I cooked the shrimp in a different pan, and reserved some of the pasta and served that topped with Parmesan cheese, then I left the shrimp off the rest of the pasta and covered it with the sauce. I did use bacon oven pancetta. I thought the sauce was okay, its not my favorite. It is different, but when you’re cooking a different recipe every day, what do you expect?

I like all those ingredients a lot and would have expected it to be amazing–I’m glad you made it instead of me. I’d be bummed after all that effort for it to just be okay. What *is* your favorite sauce?

Hi Ann, If you like all those ingredients, you might like it. It wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t horrible. My favorite sauce is a good hearty meat sauce!
