Rachael Ray: Tomato Sauce

Rachael Ray is such a big fan of pasta and sauce, I figured I should try out all her sauce recipes in what she claims to be collector’s edition magazine. I also realized I have never just made plain tomato sauce. I’ve tried a lot of tomato sauces, and I used to buy ready made tomato (spaghetti) sauce in the grocery store. However after my experience of cooking Rachael Ray recipes I can say I do not think I will ever buy prepacked spaghetti sauce again. Making it is too easy and in my opinion, so much better!

Recipe: Tomato Sauce

Cookbook: Everyday with Rachael Ray

Total Time: 35 minutes (25-30 minutes simmer time)

Notes: The only thing I did different here is use diced tomatoes instead of chopped tomatoes. I know I bought a can of chopped tomatoes, but I could not find it anywhere. I’m pretty sure they’re really close to the same thing. This sauce was delicious. I loved every bite! Pick out your favorite pasta to serve it up with, obviously I choose bow tie!

  1. I tried this dish and it was just wonderful. I am not exactly what you would call an experienced cook, and simply don’t relish elaborate dishes which often get me stressed out with the cooking. It’s so simple and tasty, perfect with a glass or two of Merlot. Thanks a lot.

I like to cook and post about it in this blog. In 2009, I cooked a Rachael Ray recipe everyday for my family. You can check out the featured receipe from 2009. Here's hoping this blog makes your lives a little less work and more enjoyable!
