Rachael Ray: Crunchy Almond French Toast
A while back I made a Rachael Ray recipe for Almond French toast, and I loved it. This one had a little twist by adding cornflakes. I liked the other one much better. I felt like there was a lack in flavor, it just wasn’t sweet enough for me. I’m not a huge fan of french toast to start with, but I do like it sweet!
Recipe: Crunchy Almond French Toast
Cookbook: Cooking Round the Clock
Total Time: 15 minutes
Notes: I cooked this toast entirely in the oven. All my skillets were dirty, and I didn’t feel like washing them out because, well let’s face it, I was lazy. I do think that the milk needs a touch of sugar, it would make this so much better! I didn’t make the fancy fruit topping, that’s just too much money to spend for myself. That probably would’ve made it sweeter!
- Crunchy Almond French Toast
- Ingredients
- soak bread in milk
- press down in almonds and corn flakes
- bake in oven

Wait. Wait. WAIT. You complain at the beginning of the post that there wasn’t ENOUGH flavour. Yet…you left out the fruit part of the recipe, which was intended to ADD sweet flavour.
I really feel the need to paraphrase a warning that’s frequently used on the terrific AllRecipes.com: “If you don’t follow the ingredients and instructions to the letter, you can’t complain about the recipe when you don’t like the end result.”
