French Toast Recipe

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

This “Lost Bread” recipe from Rachael Ray is one you’re going to love! Every now and then I like to cooke breakfast for dinner, it’s light, it’s easy, easy to clean up, and most importantly my husband enjoys it. I have never been a big French Toast fan, the cafe I worked at in college had this amazing stuffed french toast with strawberries and cream cheese, seriously, it’s to die for! I love this French Toast, I made this before I went to a dinner and left it for the husband when he got home from practice. I decided even though I was going to dinner a little snack wouldn’t hurt, it was so good I didn’t want to stop eating it. It may rot my teeth, because I’m sure its not good for you, but everything in moderation right?

Notes: There is really nothing, absolutely nothing I did different in this recipe, except put a strawberry on top for the picture!

Burrito Recipe

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

This is Rachael Ray’s Philly Steak Burrito recipe. I’m going to go out on a limb and say, it doesn’t taste likeĀ a Philly to me, but it was still good. I first fell in love with Philly Cheese steaks while working at a deli after college. Now I try them at different places I go. Charlie’s in the mall food court has a decent one, but honestly I haven’t found a Philly to match what I made at the deli. I think this burrito would’ve tasted more like a Philly if I would’ve used the actual Philly Steak meat instead of skirt steak.

Husband Says: “Too much steak sauce, it tasted like a fajita to me, it was good, wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.”

Notes:I don’t think I put steak sauce on your grocery list, and if you have it don’t use it, and if you don’t have it you’re not missing anything. I really agree with everything that the Husband said about this burrito. I used just cheddar cheese, and like I said in the opening, it was good, but if you’re expecting a Philly taste, you’re not going to get it here. Also I pretty much cooked the steak and onions and peppers in the same pan. You know me, the less to clean up, the better!
