Rachael Ray: Mushroom Ragu

It’s been a while since I’ve made a tomato sauce based Rachael Ray pasta, so I felt like it was time. This recipe caught my eye so here it is! This Ragu has some sausage in it, I used Hot Italian Sausage and I love that in tomato sauce. It gives it a little kick, and it brings a different flavor then the beef. So if you want a different take on meat sauce, give this one a try!

Cookbook: Big Orange Book

Total Time: 20 minutes

Husband Says: Verdict is still out for this meal, I’ll update as soon as he gets to eat it!

Notes:Well, this isn’t actually mushroom ragu at all. Orignially I had planned to just put some mushrooms in some of this one for the husband. He loves mushrooms; I do not love mushrooms. As luck would have it I forgot the mushrooms at the store, and at my quilting lesson on Friday my teaching gave me a huge fresh zucchini! I love fresh zucchini, so it seemed like a good enough substitute for mushrooms! I also just browned the sausage for a few minutes then added the zucchini and onions to the same skillet and cooked it together.
